I specialize in language contact, change, and variation, with a particular focus on language endangerment and shift in Siberia. The topic of my dissertation is identifying and explaining ongoing changes in the argument structure of Chukchi, a Chukotko-Kamchatkan (Paleosiberian) language spoken in Chukotka and the Sakha Republic, where I have done fieldwork since 2017. I also have an interest in fieldwork methodologies, especially incorporating experimental approaches in fieldwork with minority groups.
