Research Interests:
syntax, morphology, discourse, Basque grammar
My research focuses on the interface between discourse and grammar, with particular attention to the morphological and syntactic properties of grammatical elements that structure discourse. In my doctoral work, I conducted an in-depth analysis of discourse particles, and my current postdoctoral project investigates the phenomenon of allocutivity—verbal morphemes that refer to a non-thematic addressee. This study is situated within the context of the Basque language, and involves an interdialectal comparison to examine how allocutive morphemes interact with person and number markers in finite verb forms.
