Education: BA, University of California

I am a first-year Phd student in Linguistics. I completed my Bachelor's in Linguistics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. In 2023, I was awarded the Baggett Fellowship at the University of Maryland. I worked there as a post-Bachelor's researcher for two years. I was advised primarily by Professors Masha Polinsky and Aron Hirsch. I study the syntax of Kaqchikel and related Mayan languages, specifically, left dislocation and pseudo-cleft structures. I am also interested in the syntax of A-bar phenomena and the syntax of feature projection in Q phrases. In particular, I have looked at the behavior of Q features in argument positions. I have also looked at Wh and superiority phenomena in Turkish. Please feel free to email me if any of these topics are of interest to you.
