Hello, I’m Ziqi and I am a first year PhD student in linguistics. My research interests include phonetics and phonology, and I’m particularly interested in the third-wave sociolinguistics, such as style and indexicality. I’ve worked on sound change and variation in Hong Kong Cantonese, and phonetic cue weighting in Mandarin Chinese. Just about to start my PhD life, I’m also eager to know more about other fields such as pragmatics, and linguistic anthropology.
