Prof. Durk Gorter is visiting us from the University of the Basque Country for a time, and will be presenting at LVC on "Advancements in linguistics landscape studies" this upcoming Friday, 15:30 in Cobb 301. We are super excited for his presentation!

Durk Gorter is Ikerbasque research professor at the University of the Basque Country, Spain. He was the head of the Donostia Research group on Education And Multilingualism (DREAM). He carries out research on multilingual education, European minority languages and linguistic landscapes. Among his publications are edited books on Minority Languages in the Linguistic Landscape, Minority Languages and Multilingual Education: Bridging the Local and the Global, Multilingual Education: Between language learning and translanguaging and Pedagogical Translanguaging (2021, co-authored with Jasone Cenoz). He also has taught in the European Master in Multilingualism and Education (EMME) and he was the editor-in-chief of the journal Language, Culture and Curriculum (2013-2021).
